Drought in the built environment
Increasing periods of drought have various harmful consequences in the built environment. The NWA program Drought in the built environment (DroBE) contributes to insight into this drought problem and aims to provide governments with tools to tackle the drought problem.
Purpose
The aim of the NWA program DroBE is to develop knowledge and action perspectives for decentralized authorities and the relevant professional field, to achieve a climate-proof built environment. The knowledge to be developed should provide more insight into the risks and potential damage caused by drought, as well as measures and their costs, benefits and additional benefits. In addition, there is a need for knowledge to enable the assessment and implementation of measures by local governments, implementers, businesses and citizens.
The DroBE program aims to form a new interdisciplinary and knowledge chain-wide consortium that jointly develops and carries out one research project. The program connects fundamental, applied and practice-oriented research with the knowledge needs of governments and societal parties and the already available knowledge, expertise and networks on the subject.
